U.S. C4ISR continues to grow while focusing on knowledge-based situational awareness, adding more weight to intelligence gathering, sharing and analysis, and maintaining the concept of net-centric warfare. Information dominance over the enemy has long been, and will continue to be, key to success. By utilizing intent-centric principles and cognitive computing capabilities, human aspects of real-time decision and command can add even more value to these areas of C4ISR.

Improving battlefield readiness by enabling a real-time adaptive system not constrained by existing commands, which are not conducive to handling unforeseen or rapidly unfolding situations, will be crucial to the military of the future.
